Northeast Indiana Chief Information Officer Forum

2016 techapalooza cioThe Northeast Indiana Chief Information Officer (CIO) Forum is comprised of Information Technology leaders (CIOs, IT Directors, and IT Strategists). We meet quarterly, in various locations, sponsored by the group or other strategic partners, to discuss IT issues, trends, and best practices. This conversational series of sessions are designed to allow the free and confidential exchange of ideas so that CIOs and IT leaders can optimize their Information Technology operation.

The Northeast Indiana CIO Forum self-select the topics. The attendance in the group is limited to optimize the discussion. It is not a sales meeting of any type, although we do review appliances, applications, tools, and methodologies. It is designed to help CIO and IT Leaders remain connected to technology trends.

Contact us at 260-403-5855 if you are interested in joining this group or sponsoring a quarterly meeting. Additionally, various corporate sponsors host networking and learning events during the year.

Securing the Internet of Things

About the session:

The next meeting of the Northeast Indiana CIO forum, Thursday, September 8, 8 AM at the new Skyline Plaza and hosted by Ash Brokerage. Please note this special day of the week and time with accommodated our host.

There is a race to the Internet of Things (IoT). CIOs are asked to connect more products to the corporate network. Engineers are developing more was to get real-time feedback. Marketers are looking to create more stickiness with the end consumer and the public seems to be embracing these new technological opportunities by reward companies with a treasure trove of data.

Organizations must leverage the IoT. The number of connected devices will only grow. Information Technology security concerns continue to grow. At issue is the proliferation of connected systems, the poor classification data under management, and the exponentially increasing amount of data being collected by both legitimate and illegitimate sources. Prepare your thoughts for what will be a robust discussion. Meet your peers as we discuss the security implication of the IoT and discover what leading practices are being used to secure corporate networks.

Our host for this meeting is David Threm, CIO, Ash Brokerage. Fort Wayne is a buzz with the investments being made in our downtown. The Ash Brokerage project continues to parlay those investments. A contemporary addition to our growing city, the Ash Skyline Plaza, corporate headquarters for Ash Brokerage features dining options, office and retail space, and is the home of the downtown YMCA. We will also discuss how this project and others like it can help us secure the human capital needed to elevate northeast Indiana.
